Martha Stewart stores are opening, starting with an international focus.
The first stand-alone Martha Stewart retail store opened in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai this May, and is quickly being followed by two other locations in the city. A store at the Dubai Hills Mall opened just two weeks ago and another is planned for later this summer.
Additional Martha Stewart stores are slated to open in India, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, according to a press release sent to Retail Dive.
Martha Stewart owner Marquee Brands partnered with retail conglomerate Apparel Group on the effort. Apparel Group is headquartered in Dubai.
The flagship locations offer an “immersive” experience for shoppers, per the company, and are designed to reflect Stewart’s style and attention to detail.
“I am proud to introduce these first-of-their-kind retail destinations for the Martha Stewart brand,” Stewart said in a statement. “We’ve created a beautifully designed space filled with products that I personally love and use. I think customers will find inspiration and plenty of practical ideas for making their homes more beautiful, comfortable and functional.”
Stores feature products in categories including kitchenware, bedding, bath, home fragrance and entertaining.
“This marks a major milestone for Marquee and the Martha Stewart brand,” Heath Golden, CEO of Marquee Brands, said in a statement. “For the first time, consumers can step into a physical space dedicated entirely to Martha’s vision of living well. These stores are not just points of purchase — they’re destinations for discovery, inspiration, and exceptional design.”
Marquee Brands manages a portfolio that consists of a number of recognized retailers such as BCBGMaxAzria, A Pea in the Pod, Ben Sherman and Laura Ashley, which it acquired at the start of this year.
The company also partnered recently with Apparel Group to open the first Sur La Table store in Dubai. A joint venture by Marquee Brands and CSC Generation bought Sur La Table out of bankruptcy in 2020 for around $89 million.
