Internet Retailer magazine in mid-June surveyed 99 people at retail companies who could highlight more than one priority for their technology plans. 62% cited “e-commerce platform” as their top priority, followed by mobile commerce, content management and email marketing.
-
A total of 19.1% of those saying they're making improvements said they’ll be making them within six months. Another 19.1% said they would make improvements in the next year.
-
Of those surveyed, 86.5% say they will spend more on their e-commerce technologies this year, and 24.4% of those say the bump will be 15.1% to 25%.
Dive Insight:
Clearly, improvements to e-commerce platforms are a priority for e-retailers, with many planning improvements or revamps very soon; this survey tracks many others with similar results. The full report will be available through Internet Retailer magazine in their July issue — it could be interesting to see a further breakdown of priorities, especially for mobile.
