Dive Insight:
Crate and Barrel’s shared registry is among the latest enhancements since the company announced its multi-year investment plan aimed at growth and enhancing the customer experience.
The company said it is announcing the gift registry to celebrate life's milestones.
"With more than a decade of insights from our brands, we know registrants want variety when creating their list," President of CB2 Ryan Turf said in a statement. "The Registry at CB2 welcomes our celebrants, whether newly engaged or celebrating another milestone like their first home, to curate a unique, personalized, and memorable gift list with a distinctive set of products."
Crate and Barrel’s registry program allows for group gifting, where registry viewers can collectively contribute to items at a higher price point. Users can access their registry online or through the Crate and Barrel or CB2 app and have a 15% off coupon applicable to their registry for the next six months. The company is offering a registry concierge of specialists who can provide one-on-one advice and product recommendations.
The Registry at CB2, The Wedding Registry at Crate and Barrel and The Baby Registry at Crate and Kids can be accessed in-store and online. A new CB2 app and an updated Crate and Barrel app will launch February in the United States, according to the company. Canadian customers can expect the shared registry experience in 2024. The company also hinted at future in-store events inviting registrants to explore products.
In August 2023, Crate and Barrel Holdings announced a multi-year investment plan aimed at growth and enhancing the customer experience. The retailer has brought on a couple of new executives and said it was planning for more tech hires as well as integrating more business intelligence and customer relationship management teams into the tech division of the company.
David’s Bridal also offers wedding registry services on their platform and vendor marketplace that launched in January 2023. Similarly, Etsy introduced a wedding registry in May last year after reporting a sharp increase in handmade gift searches.
